Recently, the Instagram Privacy Settlement website announced a slight setback, pushing the final approval hearing from October 11th to November 21st. Why Is Instagram Paying Users Back?

In the case of Parris v. Meta Platforms Inc, also known as Instagram's class action lawsuit, Meta stands accused of breaching Illinois' Biometric Privacy Act (BIPA) by collecting and storing users' biometric data without consent. Despite Meta's denial of any wrongdoing, it has agreed to settle the matter by compensating Instagram users active on the platform between August 10, 2015, and August 16, 2023. While the exact payout remains uncertain, experts estimate individual compensations to be approximately $7, taking into account legal fees and users' duration of activity on the app.

Anticipating Instagram Users' Payout: A Waiting Game
