Introducing Gemini Integration in Google Messages and YouTube Music Extension

Google expands its Gemini lineup with the addition of Gemini in Messages on Android and the YouTube Music Extension.  

In Messages, users can access Gemini by tapping the "Start chat" FAB, initiating a UI similar to SMS/RCS conversations. While conversations occur over RCS and aren't end-to-end encrypted, they offer optimized responses and support Gemini Extensions like Workspace, YouTube, and Maps.

Gemini in Google Messages, which initially launched for beta users, is now rolling out globally in English (and French in Canada), excluding certain regions.

The YouTube Music Extension within Gemini enables users to seamlessly search for and play songs, albums, artists, and playlists. It responds to various prompts, such as searching by song lyrics or genre.

This rollout begins today in English and will be followed by Calendar, Keep, Tasks, and Utilities (Android Clock app) in the upcoming months.
