The March 2024 update for Copilot for Microsoft 365 includes grounded Mobile chat and more
Microsoft has unveiled a slew of new features making their way to Copilot for Microsoft 365 services, highlighted in its latest monthly blog update. Among the enhancements are Graph-grounded chat integration within the Microsoft 365 mobile app and various other improvements.
This month's blog entry reveals that Microsoft 365 apps for iOS and Android now facilitate accessing company-specific data through Copilot. This empowers employees to seek answers based on past meetings, discussions, and document revisions, while also enabling document creation using company data.
Moreover, Microsoft has announced that starting in April, Copilot for Microsoft 365 will enable users to input prompts and receive information based on their work content from Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
In a significant move, Microsoft disclosed that Microsoft 365 work or school account subscribers can now directly access Copilot from the Outlook email client for the first time. Additionally, new Copilot features have been introduced in Excel, allowing users to verbally prompt Copilot using the Microphone feature and explore tailored prompt ideas via the View Prompts icon in the chat pane.
It's important to note that Copilot support in Excel is still labeled as a public preview by Microsoft.
Lastly, Microsoft has made enhancements to Copilot's integration with the Loop collaboration tool, promising better contextual information retrieval when users inquire about Loop files.
Earlier this week, Microsoft also announced a delay in Copilot for Microsoft 365 support for higher education users, shifting from April 1 to May 1.
